Abstracts

  • Abstract Submission Opens: January 15th 2026
  • Abstract Submission Deadline: March 15th 2026

There is no abstract submission fee. Submitting an abstract implies a sincere intent to present during the conference. The presenting author must register as a conference participant and pay the conference registration fees. If the presenting author does not register for the conference, the abstract will be withdrawn from the programme and the abstract volume.

Please note that this is an in-person only conference and no hybrid presenting options will be available. The abstract volume will be published on IAGOD’s website.

Please follow the guidelines below to submit your abstract. All abstract submissions will be peer revied by the session conveners.

Note: You can submit up to two abstracts as the presenting author:

  • One for a poster presentation
  • One for an oral presentation

Submission guidelines

  • Decide which session is more appropriate for your abstract.
  • Download the abstract template file.
  • Write the abstract in clear concise English, and please save your file giving the session number (S#) and then first author’s surname in the following format: “S#_Smith-IAGOD2026poster.docx” or “S#_Smith-IAGOD2026oral.docx” (depending on your preference of presentation).
  • Fill out the submission information form and select a preferred session (mandatory). You have the option to select a secondary session. Select your preferred presentation style (poster or oral).
  • Submit your abstract as an attachment and send it to iagod.symposium2026@gmail.com
  • For authors not capable of accessing the submission information, please include the preferred session and presentation style information in the body of the email when submitting your abstract.
  • Abstracts are to be written in Times New Roman, 11pt font, single line spacing and justified, with margins of 25 mm on each side, and 15 mm each at the top and bottom.
  • Abstracts have a maximum limit of 2 pages. Optional you can include 1 figure or 1 table. If using figure or table refer to it in the text as (Figure 1) or (Table 1).
  • Use one hard return for a new paragraph (between paragraphs use spacing 6 pt after) and do not use indents. This includes the title and affiliations, all text (any images) and references.
  • Spell out all acronyms in full in the first instance, with the acronym in parentheses. After this, the acronym can be used.
  • References within the text should be referred to "as demonstrated (Allan, 2020a, 2020b; Allan and Jones, 2019)" or "as demonstrated (Jones, 2019; Allan, 2020). Kramer et al. (2023) have recently shown". References should be listed in full and at the end of the abstract. The references should be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', etc., placed after the year of publication See reference style in the word file template example (page 3).
