16^th IAGOD Quadrennial Symposium 2026

The Organizing Committee would like to Welcome you to Porto and to the 16th IAGOD Quadrennial Symposium in 2026! Meet friends, review the old and make new friends, while enjoying some Portuguese Flavours!

The early career Sunset is an activity planned for the students and early career geoscientists to network and build connections and partnerships for their future.

This activity will also allow the participants to see one of the best viewpoints of the city of Porto – the Cupula of the Super Bock Arena-Rosa Mota Pavillion – along with its beautiful gardens.

The guided tour to go up to the cupula will take 20 minutes and has a cost of 7 euros per person. The Porto 360 guides will take you to the top of the building, where you will have time to enjoy some quality time, take photos, and create memories with the best views over the city. After the climb everyone will have free time to network, get to know each other, have a drink at the Super Bock Arena Foodcourt or just enjoy the beautiful gardens.

These activities will take place on the 31st of August at the end of the symposium day.

For organizational reasons, registration is limited to 50 students/young researchers.

Payment for the tour will be made in cash just before the climb. The climb to the cupula is made by stairs, as such it is not accessible by wheelchair, but everyone is welcome to join us for the networking and drinks happening after the tour.
