Madureira's Campo Alegre restaurant opened its doors on 27 February 2014. Here you can enjoy the flavours of traditional cuisine, as well as the famous francesinhas.

Pão com Manteiga

Initially, Pão com Manteiga was meant to be just a café. It became a restaurant because a student asked if he could have the lunch that Zaina, the manager and head chef, was making for her husband and children. That day, she didn’t even charge the student, who returned the following day with a group of friends. That day she served 10 dishes, the next day 20, and today she serves an average of 200 dishes a day of simple, home-cooked but delicious food. The menu features traditional Portuguese and Brazilian dishes, as well as the famous Brazilian pastries and desserts, such as brigadeiros. It has a pleasant terrace which you can enjoy on sunny days.
